Concept of doping

'Doping' is a word,which is used in the field of sports,when athletes use prohibited substances or methods to unfairly improve their sporting performance. Infact,some athletes take illegal substances to enhance their performance. This activity is known as 'doping' .

Prohibited substances and methods are those substances and methods which are banned or prohibited from use in sports.
  • The athelete would face vital health problems if he doesnot take such drug or substances.
  • There is no other suitable alternative to that drug.
  • There is no considerable performance enhancing benefit.
  • Substances prohibited at all times or in-and-out-of competition.

Athletes responsibilities

  1. To be knowledgeable of comply with all applicable anti-doping policies and rules adopted pursuant to the code.
  2. To be available for the sample collection at all times.
  3. To take the responsibility in the context of anti-doping,for what they ingest and use.
  4. To inform medical personnel of their obligation not to use prohibited substances and prohibited methods and to take the responsibility to make sure that any medical treatment received doesnot violate anti-doping policies and rules adopted pursuant to the code.
  5. Report immediately to the doping control station for testing unless delayed for valid reasons.
  6. To maintain control of your sample  until it is sealed.
